My Approach

I consider myself an attachment based, trauma-informed and adoption competent counsellor. I also have a heart for helping parents to be the parent their child needs. Providing a safe and non-judgmental space to make sense of your experiences is my primary goal. My strength-based, client-centred approach, aims to support you to: strengthen connections, enhance skills, build resilience, heal from your own experiences, and to enjoy healthy relationships.

I rely on evidence based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Polyvagal Theory and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

A major focus of my ongoing training is in trauma recovery in which I have taken several courses in Internal Family Systems,  Polyvagal Theory, as well as grief counselling.
